Video Clarity Unveils Automated Broadcast Quality Monitoring

RTM Measures the A/V Quality, A/V Delay, and VANC Data and Alarms when the Perceived Quality Drops

Campbell, CA, April 01, 2010 – Video Clarity, Inc. today announced the release of their real-time monitoring system aimed at finding problems within the broadcast network. Dead air is the ultimate failure confronting cable and broadcast television networks. The occasional failure is not only embarrassing, but costly.

To reduce failures, network operators deploy video wall solutions, which gather all of the programming and present it to an operator for review. The operator is tasked with maintaining the working status of the entire network. As the channel count increases, it is becoming more and more difficult to keep track of failures.

Video Clarity unveils an automated broadcast quality monitoring (RTM) solution at NAB in Las Vegas. The solution saves valuable man-hours by confirming errors that you have seen and finding errors that you have missed. RTM alarms when the audio or video quality is impaired, the audio and video is out of sync (lip sync), or the VANC data is missing/corrupted. The alarms are seen on the front panel, through SNMP, or its own GUI (

“Video Clarity is committed to making automated, real-time A/V quality monitoring a reality,” said Blake Homan, President of Video Clarity. “RTM saves valuable man-hours by monitoring the quality looking for anomalies in the audio, video, lip-sync, and VANC, and it never gets tired or takes a day off.”

RTM is available today from Video Clarity or one of our partners.
